How does GECA stop overselling?
When an order is placed, GECA checks every item against current stock and reserves it inside a single locked step, processing products in a fixed order so simultaneous checkouts cannot collide. If there are fewer units than requested, the customer is told exactly how many are available. Sold-out items cannot be ordered at all. When an order is cancelled, or an online payment is abandoned, the stock is returned automatically, including stock tracked per variant.
