Can GECA find product details from a barcode?

Yes. When you scan or type a barcode, GECA checks a curated product directory first, then your own catalogue, then several open product databases in parallel, including food, beauty and general product databases and book listings for ISBNs. It handles EAN and UPC variants of the same code. The name, brand, description and photos it finds are filled into a new product for you to check and save.
